If you haven’t heard the international sensation "Gangnam Style" song by now, you must be living under a rock. South Korean singer PSY performed his infectiously catchy hit song on the Seven Network’s "Sunrise" breakfast show on Wednesday on a stage set up in Sydney’s central business district.

PSY has taken the pop world by storm, getting almost 500 million YouTube hits, most recently, did his foot-stomping "horse dance" in front of hundreds of fans in Martin Place.

PSY, S. Korean POP singer, said,"Someone like concerning about going to be one hit wonder or what so, but the thing is, even if it is one hit wonder I don’t care because still, look at them, today so beautiful, so this is OK."

Gangnam is the most upmarket neighbourhood in the South Korean capital. Known as Seoul’s "Beverly Hills", its streets are lined with designer-brand shops and trendy bars and restaurants.

PSY, who sums up his style as "dress classy, dance cheesy", has became a surprise hit around the world.

PSY said,"Honestly, I’ve never heard about any sex symbol in my home country, honestly, and let me proudly say physically I’m not sexy but some sort of mentally a little bit."

The 34-year-old was raised in Gangnam and went to the Berklee College of Music in the United States. PSY, whose real name is Park Jai-sang, has always stuck out as an oddity compared with the svelte, well-scrubbed members of South Korean girl and boy bands that have swept to fame in Asia and beyond.

His hit, released in mid-July, was intended to be fun, he said. Doing a bit of his horse-riding dance, Psy declared in English that his aim was to have "fun by music".
