一、如何用英语表示小数
“小数”由整数部分、小数点和小数三部分组成。小数点读作point, 小数点前面的数词按基数词读出，小数点的后面的数就依次按数字读出，如12.297可表示为twelve point two nine seven。
顺便说一句，若一个名词受到大于1的小数的修饰，那么该要用复数，如“一点三毫米”说成英语是1.3 millimetres，不是1.3 millimetre。
二、如何用英语表示分数
用英语表示分数的方法是：先说分子，后说分母；分子用基数词，分母用序数词；当分子超过“一”时，分母用复数形式。如“三分之二”可表示为 two thirds (可理解为“两个三分之一”)。如：
Only about one-third of the class is going to make it next year. 班里明年会升级的人大约只有三分之一。
Two-fifths of the machines on display were new items. 展出的机器五分之二是新产品。
但是有些分数的表示比较其特别，如“二分之一”通常说成a (one) half，“四分之一”通常说成 a quarter。
Three quarters of the theatre was full. 剧院的座位坐满了四分之三。
The proportion rose from a quarter to a half. 比率从四分之一上升到了二分之一。
有时我们还可以用“分子(用基数词)+ in / out of +分母(用基数词)”这样的形式，如“十分之六”可表示为 six in [out of] ten。如：
Eight out of ten of us suffer this miserable condition at some time in our lives. 在我们的生活中的某个时候，10个人有8个经受过这种可悲的情况。
注：当分子及分母都非常大时，可直接读“分子(基数词)+over +分母(基数词)”，如“86/98”可表示为eighty-six over ninety-eight。
三、如何用英语表示百分数
英语的百分数通常用“基数词 + percent”来表示，如“82%”可表示为 eighty-two percent。其中，percent也可分开写成per cent。
percent的符号形式为%，如45 percent可写成45%。注意英语与汉语表达词序的不一样，如汉语说“百分之六十”，说成英语是60 per cent，不能是per cent 60。又如：
Ten per cent of the apples are bad. 这些苹果中有10％是坏的。
The price was reduced by 18 per cent. 价格降低了百分之十八。
Only 18 per cent thought employment would rise over the next year. 只有百分之十八的人认为就业率明年会上升。
四、如何用英语表示时刻法
英语的时刻一般用基数词表示，如“12点”可表示为 twelve (o’clock)；若表示几点过几分(不超过半小时)，则一般用“分钟数 + past + 点钟数”表示，如“6点15分”可表示为 fifteen past six；若表示几点差几分(不超过半小时)，一般用“分钟数 + to + 点钟数”表示，“8点45分”可表示为 fifteen to nine。
有时也可直接用基数词读点钟数和分钟数，如“9点20分”可表示为 nine twenty，“11点50分”可表示为eleven fifty。
五、如何用英语表示日期
1. 在英美国家对日期的表示稍有不同，英国通常采用“日—月—年”的方式，而美国则通常采用“月—日—年”的方法，如“
2. 英语中“年”的读法：四位数以下的年份，按基数词的读法读，如“(公元)432年”直接读成 four hundred and thirty-two；满四位数年份，一般是两位两位地读，即读作“几十几，几十几”，如“1978年”通常读作 nineteen seventy-eight。
若是整数百的年份，通常读作“the year+几十几+hundred”。如“1900年”读作 the year nineteen hundred；若是整数千的年份，通常读作“the year+几千”，如“2000年”读作 the year two thousand。类似地，“2010年”可读作 two thousand and ten(www.hxen.com)。
