In Fuzhou City, East China’s Fujian Province, a group of grandmothers have formed a hip-hop group to shake up dancing traditions. They call themselves the "hip-hop grannies" - But they are not your typical hip-hop music lovers, as most of them are between 60 and 70 years old.
在中国东部福建省的福州市，一群奶奶成立了一个街舞小组，动摇了舞蹈传统。她们称自己为“街舞老奶奶”。但是她们不是传统街舞音乐爱好者，因为她们中的大多数人年龄在六七十岁之间。
This 20 member dance crew was formed five years ago, but it wasn’t a smooth ride at the beginning. None of the members had any dancing experience. So, they pulled inspiration from the movements they make during farm work and combined them with heavy beats and a funky baseline.
这个有20名成员的舞蹈队五年前成立，但是开始时并不顺利。成员中没有人有舞蹈经验。所以，她们从做农活时的动作中获取灵感，将动作与重节拍、时髦的底线结合起来。
Liu Yuqin, team leader of dance crew, said, "When other villagers were watching our rehearsal, they sometimes laughed at our dance because they think it contains too many countryside elements. But we don’t care that much, we are all farmers so I think our dance should reflect our own life."
舞蹈队领队林玉琴称：“当其他村民看我们排练时，他们有时会取消我们的舞蹈，因为他们觉得它包含太多乡村元素。但是我们并不介意，我们全都是农民，所以我觉得我们的舞蹈应该反映我们自己的生活。”
After paying rent for the dance studio, the group doesn’t have much left, so they have to make their own costumes.
在支付舞蹈室的租金之后，队里没剩太多钱，所以她们得自己制作服装。
Shi chaoying, member of dance crew, said, "It is not an easy task to make costumes for the whole team, especially after rehearsals all day. But I still enjoy doing this. My house has become like a warehouse, but I don’t care. I’m very satisfied with my current life, I feel very happy."
舞蹈队队员Shi chaoying表示：“为整支队伍制作服装并不是一项容易的任务，尤其是整天排练之后。但是我仍然喜欢做这个。我的房子就像一个仓库，但是我不介意。我对我目前的生活非常满意，我觉得很高兴。”
Though difficulties often come up, the dedicated efforts of the dance crew have paid off. Their performances have taken them to many places across the country, representing a new image, a new fashion for Chinese grandmothers.
虽然困难常常出现，但是舞蹈队专注的努力得到回报。她们的表演将她们带到全国许多地方，代表一种新形象，中国老奶奶的一种新时尚。
These women used to gather to play Majong for years. Their new hobby has them on their feet, which is boosting their health.
过去几年里，这些妇女常常聚在一起打麻将。她们的新爱好让她们用脚促进她们的健康。
Lin Meiying, member of dance crew, said, "I don’t need any medication since I started to do hip-hop. I used to need the help of another person to walk, but now I can walk by myself."
舞蹈队队员Lin Meiying表示：“自从我开始跳街舞以来，我不需要吃药。过去我行走需要别人的帮助，但是现在我可以自己走路。”
Lin Xiuzhen, member of dance crew, said, "I think hip-hop has made me younger, happier and helps me to lead a more colourful and high-quality life."
舞蹈队队员Lin Xiuzhen称：“我觉得街舞使我变得更年轻、更开心，它使我过上更丰富多彩、更高质量的生活。”
As these grannies are preparing for their next hip-hop performance, they’re hoping they can remind dancers of any age that you’re never too old to move to the music.
这些老奶奶现在正在准备下一次街舞表演，她们希望她们能让各个年龄的舞蹈者记住，跟着音乐舞动永远也不会太老。
