Homegrown companies have found many opportunities to promote their brands, products and ideals at the on-going China Beijing International High-Tech Expo. The event also attracts large number of visitors, and provides them with a chance to glimpse at what life could look like in the future. Since its founding in 1993, Aigo has evolved from a USB storage assembler to one of the leading consumer electronics companies. It produces gadgets such as tablet computers, digital photo frames and even portable projectors.

Yan Tianyu, Sales Engineer of Aigo Digital Technology, said, "Every year, we come here. The Expo is a great opportunity for our company to showcase our products and bring us closer to consumers."

At Wanger Biotech's pavilion, a visitor is showing a keen interest in the company's products.

The company produces test papers and reagents capable of detecting even the slightest amount of melamine in milk, ractopamine in pork, and Sudan red in ketchup.

Visitor to CHITEC Expo said, "I find these test papers really amazing, they are brilliant innovations, especially when people are worried about food security. Sadly the products are not for average consumers."

Even so, these products may still help big dairy companies identify problematic milk before collecting it from farms.

Zhang Xu, Beijing Wanger Biotech, said, "Five minutes is what you need for the result to come out. Each single bottle contains eight units and is sold at 15 yuan. It can be used to test tons of milk so it's not going to add extra costs."
北京望尔生物技术的张旭说：“只需5分钟检测结构就可以出来。每瓶含8个单位，售价15元。它可以测试很多牛奶，所以不用增加额外费用。”
A large sandbox model showcasing Beijing's solution to its traffic problems has attracted many visitors.

Visitor to CHITEC Expo said, "I really hope the system can ease Jams in the future. I like the expo because we can really relate the things here with our lives."
