Hello, this is David Austin with the BBC news.

Moderate Democrats in the United States are uniting behind Joe Biden ahead of Super Tuesday, the most important day so far in the contest for the White House. His former rivals Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Beto O'Rourke have endorsed the former vice president's campaign to become the Democratic candidate to challenge Donald Trump. The left-wing Senator Bernie Sanders remains the front runner. 14 states will choose their candidate on Tuesday. Skyler Henry from CBS News says Mr. Biden is facing a big test.

This is the first time that we're seeing former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg on the ballot. He's also considered to be relatively moderate as well. So we have Joe Biden, you have Michael Bloomberg, and so I think it might be safe to say that the two of them will be battling it out for some of those moderate voters, especially here in the Democratic Party.

The South Korean President Moon Jae-in has put the country on a war footing to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. South Korea has more than 5000 infections, the biggest number outside China. From Seoul, here's Laura Becca.

President Moon told his cabinet ministers that the whole country has entered a war against the coronavirus infection. He's asked all government offices to shift to a 24-hour emergency situation room system. Over half of South Korea's cases have so far been related to a religious sect called the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, but health officials are now concerned that the virus has spread into the wider community, particularly around the worst-hit city of Daegu. The focus will now be on testing more of the 2.5 million residents in the country's 4th largest city.

After facing international isolation over the coronavirus, China is now placing its own restrictions on travelers arriving from other countries to stop the spread of infection. Visitors to Beijing and Shanghai from South Korea, Iran and Italy will have to go into quarantine for two weeks.

Senior European Union officials are going to Greece's border with Turkey to assess the buildup of migrants try to cross to Europe. The EU's foreign policy chief is in Ankara to discuss Turkey's decision on Friday to drop its restrictions on migrants attempting to get into the EU. Austria has accused Turkey of using the migrants as pawns. Our correspondent Jonah Fisher is at the border between Greece and Turkey.

The Turkish authorities have been encouraging migrants and refugees to go right up to the border. Both here in northern Greece where there are thousands of people gathered on the border and also hundreds are crossing to the Greek Islands in the Aegean. It does appear that there's been a concerted effort by the Turkish authorities to encourage people to leave in the last few days. If that is not addressed well, the European Union really is trying its best to keep people out, but certainly in the Aegean Sea it's very hard to see how they can stop all of those boats.
