The book is dead. technology has killed it. the libraries of the world are dooming to become museums. (1)____ americans, however, attend to bring an either-or mentality to most things. 8.have→do语法错误。not only放在句首要都分倒装,如果have作助动词,那么本句是现在完成时,complain应该用过去分词形式,但是本句有一个明显的时间词now,表示现在一般性的动作,因此要用一般现在时,助动词have改成do。
9.in→in 语法错误。本句是定语从句修饰先行词the gallup poll,而定语从句中首先出现了谓语动词asks,可见缺少的是主语,而不是状语,因此要有关系代词that或which替代the gallup poll,本句中which前面的介词in必须删掉。
10.merely→mere语法错误。merely是副词表示“仅仅”,此处放在不定冠词a之后用来修饰名词性短语18 percent,因此要改为形容词mere。
