[00:13.16]Two of world soccer's most powerful organizations
[00:18.48]are angry with 12 major European soccer clubs
[00:25.28]and are threatening to ban their players from the World Cup.
[00:31.76]The 12 clubs want to set up their own organization of teams
[00:38.44]in a league they are calling the Super League.
[00:43.16]But Europe's main soccer body, UEFA,
[00:47.80]and international soccer's main governing body, FIFA,
[00:53.24]do not approve of the idea.

[01:00.92]from the next European championship and the World Cup
[01:06.40]if their teams go ahead with plans to form the Super League.
[01:13.08]One of the teams is England's Manchester City.
[01:17.00]That team has players from the national teams of England,
[01:22.44]Spain, France and Germany.
[01:27.04]Others that plan to join the new league include Chelsea,
[01:31.92]Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal in England;
[01:37.84]Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spain; and Juventus and A.C. Milan in Italy.
[01:46.68]They are among the most famous soccer teams in the world
[01:51.28]and have players from all over.
[01:55.12]Teams from France and Germany have not yet announced plans to join.

[02:09.08]the organization hopes to start with 15 and then have a total of 20.

[02:55.56]which offered the teams about $4 billion.

[03:05.28]and European political leaders.
[03:09.24]UEFA is led by Aleksander Ceferin.
[03:13.96]He said he plans to ban both the teams and players
[03:20.28]from his organization's competitions.

[03:27.68]and the upcoming Euro 2020 competition.
[03:33.04]The Euro 2020 will last for a month starting on June 11.
[03:39.64]It was postponed from last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
[03:46.04]Earlier this year, international soccer's governing body, FIFA,
[03:51.04]said players could be banned from the 2022 World Cup
[03:56.16]and said Sunday it "disapproved" of the Super League.
