Dialogue 1.

W: Have you ever heard of human cloning?

M: Yes, but human cloning is banned in America.

W: I think it’s a good idea to create cloned babies for the infertile couples.

M: Human cloning will lead to a series of ethical problems. Any way I strongly object to any planned cloned human.

Dialogue 2.

W: China has launched its first manned spacecraft successfully.

M: That’s really inspiring. The spacecraft is named Shenzhou 5, right?

W: That’s right. It sent China’s first astronaut into outer space, Yang Liwei, into orbit.

M: This made China the third country after Russia and the United States to send a human in orbit around the earth.

W: China’s space technology is developing at an amazing speed.

Dialogue 3.

W: Sensors are everywhere nowadays.

M: What are they used for?

W: Well, for example, sensors can be used to prevent theft.

M: But how?

W: They can be attached to the product, if a shop lifter tries walking out without paying for the items he is taking the sensor will trigger an alarm.

M: That’s great. Herald for new technology.

Dialogue 4.

W: Have you ever heard about the new global positioning system for locating things?

M: Yes, I have. I believe they call it a GPS for short and can precisely calculate your position.

W: Do you know how it operates?

M: Yes. It operates through the use of 24 satellites that are circling the earth.

W: It said that it can pinpoint your location to within a few feet.

M: I’ve heard that it can also be used in industry, farming and even ocean record retrieval.

Dialogue 5.

W: The current pace of technological innovation is surprisingly fast.

M: Advanced technologies are symbol of social development, and ensure a better life for human beings.

W: You bet. Emphasis on high skill, high technology industries has stimulated fast economic growth.

M: Many formerly incurable diseases can be cured today thanks to advanced technology.

W: Besides advances in communication technology have turned our world into a global village. The world is becoming smaller and smaller.

M: High technology is making great changes in the way we live and is modifying the whole structure of our society.
