Unit 4. Part 3. By bus, subway or taxi.

Dialogue 1.

W: Is this the right bus for the beach?

M: No, you are going the wrong way. You want the number 11. It stops in front of the post office. You can get one at the next stop.

W: Is it a long ride?

M: Not that long.

Dialogue 2.

W: Is this the right bus for Pacific Boulevard?

M: No, you should have taken the number 709 bus. You can get one at the next stop.

W: How long does it take to get there?

M: It only takes a few minutes.

Dialogue 3.

M: Canada airport please. I have to be there by 7 o’clock.

W: We shouldn’t have any trouble if the traffic isn’t too heavy. OK. That will be 15 dollars please.

M: Is it a tip included?

W: No, sir.

M: Thanks a lot. Here is 20 dollars. Keep the change.

Dialogue 4.

W: Grand central station please. I want to catch a 8 o’clock train.

M: I think you will make it if we don’t get stock in a traffic jam. This is it. That’s 7 dollars 50 please.

W: Thank you very much. Here is 10 dollars. Give me one dollar back please.

Dialogue 5.

W: Which line do I take for Wall Street?

M: I am afraid there is no through subway available. And you’d better take the 7th avenue express, the number 2.

W: How do I get down to it? And which platform is it on?

M: Take the elevator and then go to the right.

W: And where do I get the train?

M: Just go down those steps and follow the signs.
