Dialogue 1.

M: Do you see anything you like?

W: Yes, that dress looks really nice.

M: Would you like to try it on?

W: Yes, I think I’ll do that. All right I’ll take this one. Please wrap it up.

M: Thanks.

Dialogue 2.

M: Lucy. You look nice with that blouse today. It goes so well with your skirt.

W: Thank you. I happen to catch sight of it yesterday in the fashion shop. There is only one left in my size. And what’s cool is that it only cost me 18 pounds.

M: Really? Did you get that on sale?

W: I sure did. There is a big sale at the store.

M: That’s great. Is the sale still going on?

W: It’s going to last until Saturday.

Dialogue 3.

M: Hi, how much do you ask for it?

W: 150 RMB.

M: Don’t try to rip me off. I know what this is worth. 50 RMB tops.

W: Are you kidding? It cost me more than that. 120 RMB.

M: Come on. If you don’t give me a better price I won’t buy this from you.

W: Wait, wait. OK. 85 RMB. Final price. Take it or leave it.

M: If that’s the lowest you willing to go I am leaving. I’ll pay 65 RMB. Final offer.

W: You drive a hard bargain. I am losing money on this, but all right I’ll let you have it for 65.

Dialogue 4.

W: May I help you?

M: Yes, I am wondering if you have embroider dresses?

W: Yes, we do. We have a good range of embroider dresses over there. Is this one with flowers OK?

M: The embroider is lovely. But I am afraid yellow is not the color for my wife.

W: What do you think of this one?

M: Mm, the style is not right. I’d like to look around myself.

W: Sure. If you need help just let me know.

M: Excuse me? Do you have this one of large size in blue?

W: One moment please. Sorry, we are out of the blue ones in large. Would you please look at this one? It’s new arrival, silk and hand made, 200 dollars.

M: It’s a little expensive. But I think I’ll take it.

W: Will it be cash or charge?

M: Charge.

Dialogue 5.

W: Excuse me? I want to return this shirt.

M: What’s the problem with it?

W: It’s too small.

M: Didn’t you try it on before you bought it?

W: Well, as a matter of fact, I received it as a gift.

M: Then you are sure it came from our store?

W: Yes, I am pretty sure. Don’t you sell this item?

M: Yes, we do. I am afraid we don’t give a refund, but we can give you credit towards another purchase in our store.

W: No refunds? Well, in that case I’ll accept the credit.
