英语句子的种类

英语单词按一定的规则组合起来成为一个具有某种意义的单位，就叫做意群；而意群与意群又按一定的习惯和规则连接起来构成句子。

一、从结构分

英语句子千千万万，但从句子的结构上来看，无外乎三大类，即简单句，并列句和复合句。如：

Tomorrow is Thursday. 明天是礼拜四。(简单句)

She looked very tired. 她显得很疲倦。(简单句)

Give him an inch and he will take a mile. 他会得寸进尺。(并列句)

I have failed, but I’ll try again. 我失败了，但我还要尝试。(并列句)

I hope he is on time. 希望他能准时到。(复合句)

Tell him as soon as he arrives. 他一来就告诉他。(复合句)

That is the house which we built. 这就是我们盖的房子。(复合句)

二、从作用分

若从句子在交际和交流中作用和功能来看，英语句子又可分为陈述句、祈使句、疑问句和感叹句。如：

She soon caught up with us. 她很快赶上了我们。(陈述句)

Do you know French? 你懂法语吗? (疑问句)

Who are you talking about? 你们在谈谁? (疑问句)

Come this way, madam. 这边走，夫人。(祈使句)

Let’s go to the cinema tonight. 今晚咱们去看电影。(祈使句)

How cold it is! 天气真冷! (感叹句)
