有关first的两个常考搭配

搭配一：表示第一个做某事的人，其后习惯上接不定式，不接动名词。如：

You will be the first to speak. 你将第一个发言。

He is always the first (guest) to arrive and the last to leave. 他总是第一个到最后一个离开（的客人）。

You’d be the first to be sorry if anything was to happen to him. 如果他发生什么事，你会第一个感到难受。

搭配二：用于“It’s the first time+that 从句”这类句型，此类句型的从句谓语一般要用现在完成时（若将主句的 it is 改为 it was, 则从句谓语通常用过去完成时）。如：

This is the first time I have heard of it. 这是我第一次听到有这事。

It’s the second time this has happened. 是第二次发生这样的事了。

That’s the third time he’s phoned her this evening. 这是今晚他第3次给她打电话了。

有时也可不用完成时而用其他时态，但较少见，学生宜慎用。
