并列连词for表示原因与解释

for用作并列连词时有两个主要用法：

并列连词for用法一：

并列连词 for 表示原因，总是放在主句之后（此时可与 because 换用）。如：

The ground is wet, for (=because) it rained last night. 地面是湿的，因为昨晚下过雨。

He shook his head, for (=because) he thought differently. 他摇了摇头，因为他有不同想法。

We rarely stay in hotels, for (=because) we can’t afford it. 我们很少住宾馆，因为我们住不起。

并列连词for用法二：

并列连词 for 有时不表示原因，只是对前面分句内容的解释或推断（此时也要放在主句之后，但不能与because 换用）。如：

It must have rained last night, for the ground is wet this morning. 昨晚一定下过雨，你看今天早上地面是湿的。

She must have gone out early, for she had not shown up at breakfast. 她一定是一早就出去了，因为她没来吃早饭。
